Leanne & Brendan's Kilsaran Wedding

This wedding seems like a lifetime ago but just looking at their booklet cover has me right back singing the Beatles. Sponge that I am I guarantee I’ll be singing this all day, thankfully it’s a goodie. Leanne & Brendan got married on what started as a sunny August day but by afternoon the heavens opened and there was a quick sprint inside where the celebrations continued. If you look at Brendan’s face as Leanne comes up the aisle I think it pretty much sums up the joy and excitement of the day and who doesn’t love a bride who remembers to pack a bag of Tayto cheese and onion for the spin in the car! A truly wonderful couple and a joy to work with, “All you need is love, love, love, Love is all you need………”L&B01blogL&B02blogL&B03blogL&B05blogL&B06blogL&B07blogL&B08blogL&B09blogL&B010blogL&B011blogL&B012blogL&B013blogL&B014blogL&B015blogL&B016blogL&B017blogL&B018blogL&B019blogL&B020blogL&B021blogL&B022blogL&B023blogL&B024blogL&B025blogL&B026blogL&B027blogL&B028blogL&B029blogL&B030blogL&B031blogL&B032blogL&B033blogL&B034blogL&B035blogL&B036blog

Kim & James' Ballymascanlon House Wedding

Read any marketing advice and probably the first thing they’ll tell you to do is identify your ideal customer. Rather than string a load of adjectives together I think it would be easier for me to just point in the direction of Kim and James and say, there, theres my target market, it’s as much a feeling or connection as a group of words. I knew from our initial meeting that they were a genuinely nice couple who I would get along with so it was no surprise that on the day everything clicked into place.

As soon as I walked into Kim’s parents house I could tell how the banter and flow with the girls from Exhale was going that this was a very relaxed house. This was the first (and only) daughters wedding in the family but you’d be forgiven for thinking they were old hands at it given the giggles and easy mood in the kitchen. Being a “shoe girl”, it came as no shock to find a gorgeous pair of Jimmy Choo’s with matching purse in the bedroom, which despite the wobble later in the day (which no-one noticed so I wont elaborate!) Kim seemed to float in all day.

Fr Rush was a man after James’ heart, a self confessed techy guy who loves his gadgets and this is the first wedding I’ve done where the entire ceremony was conducted using an iPad. After the mass the sun shone and unless there is a major turnaround from Met Eireann it looks like they possibly got the best day of the summer, here’s some highlights from their wonderful day, thanks so much to both Kim and James for inviting me to be part of it!

Patrice & Philip's Darver Castle Wedding

I love grooms like Philip, he remembered everything we had talked about when we met before the wedding, he brought along the champagne corks he had kept from when he proposed to Patrice in Spain, he sent the girls embroidered dressing gowns the morning of the wedding,he made sure the bridal party were well fed and watered en route from the ceremony to the reception and most importantly when we worried about Patrice’s heel’s getting caught in a grate he threw her over his shoulder and carried her to the car!

I love brides like Patrice, she was cool and calm in her Mum and Dads house in the morning, she even donned a mitt and made sure Mum’s legs were looking perfectly bronzed – she’s a professional in the industry so needless to say the makeup was fantastic and stayed put all day, she smiled and laughed her way through the day and between the pair of them they made my job very easy.

Easy knowing these two are party people, Philip manages the biggest nightclub in Dundalk and it was thanks to a lift home after work 4 years before that we got a fantastic day out. They sang, danced ( no gold leotards for Philip this time though) and threw a shindig to remember for all their friends and family. It’s a good job they got all this out of their system back then as there are quieter times ahead- not being ones to do things by halves I’m delighted to hear that they’re expecting identical twins later this year… whoop whoop! I’m tickled pink for you both!

Olivia & Gerard's Wedding, Newry Co Down

As a final post for 2011 I’m delighted to bring you Olivia & Gerard’s wedding in St Catherine’s Dominican Chapel, Newry.

Being a schoolteacher Olivia was extremely organised and so needless to say all fell into place and ran exceptionally smoothly. Even getting ready Olivia was unflappable, offering cups of tea, making sure everyone else was alright and then had time and steady hands to adjust links on her watch bracelet, it seems stress is not a familiar word in the Markey house. Her daughter and junior bridesmaid Bethany is a chip off Mum’s block and very confidently took to the altar to deliver a word perfect reading and when it came to striking poses later on she could teach the rest of us a thing or two about poise and posture.

Gerry Duffy accompanied us to the fantastic grounds of Dromantine Abbey in Glenn, Newry, where Gerard felt right at home – he grew up nearby and met Olivia in the local bar/restaurant so it was all very personal. We had a plan b in case the weather was bad but thankfully it stayed just right and we got to roam around the beautiful grounds at our leisure before heading back to Bellini’s where William and Pamela took very good care of everyone.

So as this year draws to a close I’d like to wish Olivia and Gerard a very Happy New Year and many more of them

Best wishes for 2012 x
